By Chris Kohler

Monadelphous says it expects an overall decrease in construction markets to weigh on revenue in the year ahead but is focused on cost reductions and productivity improvements as it reports a fall in full-year profit.

In the 12 months to June 30, the engineering company recorded a net profit attributable to members of $146. 5 million, a 6. 3 per cent fall on the $156. 3m recorded in the previous corresponding period.

Combined with a fully-franked interim dividend of 60c per share, the total dividend for fiscal 2014 is $1. 23, lower than the $1. 37 paid in the previous year.

Revenue for the period was $2. 33 billion, a 10. 9 per cent decrease on the $2. 62bn given last financial year.
