The Office for National Statistics said the economy expanded 3. 2 per cent in the second quarter compared with a year earlier, the fastest annual pace of growth since the final quarter of 2007.
The UK economy expanded at a slightly faster annual rate in the second quarter than initially thought, according to official data released on Friday, boosted by a better performance from the construction sector.
Construction output was 4. 8 per cent higher than a year earlier, according to the latest data, compared with an earlier estimate of 4. 2 per cent.
