Wealthy investor visa applicants pledge $4.75bn

The Australian government's visa scheme for wealthy investors, the significant investor program, has reaped a total $1. 7 billion to date, according to The Australian Financial Review.

Along with Robert Gottliebsen and Stephen Bartholomeusz, Alan also founded Business Spectator, the popular business news and commentary website.

The program had awarded 343 residency visas at July 31, after the Abbott government accelerated the scheme with the award of 31 visas in June and 57 in July, according to the paper.

Six hundred and two additional applications had been made at July 31, and $3. 05 billion in investment pledged in return, according to The AFR.
